GAITHERSBURG, Maryland: Patton Electronics, the industry leader in access and connectivity products, announces the general availability of a new kind of DSL system supporting 4.6 Mbps operation on a single pair of wires.

The Model 3088 RocketLink-G is a new kind of DSL Modem and NTU based on the latest G.SHDSL.bis standard. This product is a perfect choice for service providers who need to deploy low-cost, high-speed dedicated network connections to Enterprise customers. Providers can use the Patton RocketLink-G NTU to extend their TDM and IP services over a single twisted pair at rate-adaptive nx64 symmetrical speeds from 64 kbps to 4.6 Mbps.

Users can deploy a pair of RocketLink-G NTUs in a back-to-back configuration for straightforward high-speed, long-haul line extensions. The RocketLink-G is also ideal for repeater-less leased-line extension. Other RocketLink-G applications include V.35 router-port extension, Frame-Relay/PPP-service extension, PBX-trunk extension, and LAN/Ethernet Extension.

Carrier/providers can deploy the RocketLink-G as CPE devices in combination with Patton’s ForeFront AIS system for a complete end-to-end high-density access solution. Patton’s ForeFront AIS is a modular, carrier-class end-to-end service-delivery platform that supports a wide range of access line cards and CPE including Dial-Up, DSL, T1/E1 and Ethernet. Patton’s Model 3096RC line card terminates 16 G.SHDSL circuits and has been upgraded to support the latest G.S.bis standards. When used together with either the ForeFront 6081RC EdgeRoute processor module and/or the Model 6511RC STM-1 Switch-Matrix Module, the system delivers both TDM and IP services to subscribers at the same time.
