Patton Electronics is committed to protecting the global environment by implementing responsible business
best practices
in compliance with international standards, including the following directives:

Patton has been designing new products to meet the RoHS directive since
2005. Patton's ongoing commitment to RoHS compliance includes continuing efforts
to reduce the presence of hazardous substances in the design and
manufacture of a growing number of popular legacy products.

On 13 February 2003, the European Community enacted
the Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances (RoHS)
Directive (2002/95/EC). By restricting the use of certain hazardous substances in new
equipment, the directive aims to protect human health as well as the environment.
Effective 1 July 2006, the Directive bans the use of lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB), and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE) in electrical and electronic products sold in the European Union.

Patton's RoHS-compliance strategy emphasizes
integrated process management throughout all phases of the product life cycle

Patton's RoHS compliance program enlists a company-wide, cross-functional team,
comprising members from all disciplines, including manufacturing, purchasing,
engineering, marketing, support, and executive management. Patton's RoHS-compliance
initiative involves the following elements and results:
- Patton now specifies components that are both process-compatible
with RoHS directives and free from the specified hazardous substances in all
new-product designs.
- Patton continues to expand their catalog of RoHS-compliant
Patton products by working with suppliers to increase the number of available RoHS compliant components, assemblies, and devices.
- Patton actively uses the latest lead-free components, manufacturing processes, and equipment to ensure compliant products. For non-compliant parts, Patton is pro-actively pursuing new sources or designs to replace those parts with lead-free, RoHS-compliant alternatives.
- Patton requires suppliers to certify the RoHS compliance status of the components supplied. Additionally, Patton requests that suppliers provide information process compatibility and traceability for their components.

Patton Electronics Company is committed to doing business with environmentally responsible suppliers and
requires that suppliers comply with all applicable laws, regulations, orders, and policies in providing materials and services Patton Electronics Company.

Patton Electronics Co. WEEE Position Statement

Patton Electronics Co. is committed to meeting the requirements of the European Unionīs Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive. This Directive requires producers of electrical and electronic equipment to finance the take-back for re-use or recycling, of their products placed on the EU market after 13 August 2005.

Patton Electronics Co. products that are within the scope of the Directive are labeled with a crossed-out "wheelie-bin" symbol as required by the Directive. This indicates that the product was placed on the market after 13 August 2005 and that end-users should segregate the product from other wastes at the end-of-life of the product.

The WEEE Directive is being implemented in each of the 28 EU and European Economic Area (EAA) countries through national legislation, as a result there is considerable variation in the detailed requirements across the EU. Patton's WEEE compliance approach therefore varies between the countries. In each country affected by the WEEE legislation, Patton Electronics Co. is offering a product recycling service to its customers. Patton Electronics Co. will continually seek to register as a producer wherever it is required to do so by local legislation.
