Linux Software Engineer
As Linux Software Engineer your focus will be on development of user space applications for Patton Electronics data communications, networking and VoIP products using our embedded Linux operating environment. Your work assignments will cover the complete software project life cycle including analysis of requirements, specification, software design, design verification testing, documentation, debugging and troubleshooting, as well as conducting or participating in design reviews. You will design and develop user interface, management, networking, control and data plane components for our products. Work on driver and kernel components is a possibility.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering and one to three years experience in development of Linux or UNIX application level software in C and C++ is required. Experience with embedded Linux systems, and the integration and development of Open Source components is desirable. Ability to write driver and kernel code, as well as knowledge of Ethernet and IP networking is advantageous. Good interpersonal skills and a disciplined software engineering approach are required.
