The Patton Model 1206P Modem Eliminator is a cost effective solution for interconnection of terminal devices located in proximity of each other. The use of two modems is eliminated, with a resulting cost savings to the user. This device is bidirectional with each port connecting to a DTE. The MEs permit interfacing one terminal to another terminal without the use of two Modems. The MEs provide sync baud rates up to 2,048Kbps. When an ME is used with async data, baud rate selection is not required because the Modem Eliminator is transparent to the data.
