This capability-combined with the Model 1018's ability to support RS-232 data rates up to 57.6 kbps over two twisted pair-makes the Model 1018 perfect for inexpensive campus Internet links. Just use a plug-in Model 1018 at each remote computer, a rack of Model 1018RC cards at the central site, and connect them with 2-pair copper wire at up to 2.4 miles (3.9km)!
