The MTE Series enables the connection of two DCEs in a "tail circuit" configuration & the ECB Series enables the connection of two independently clocked DCEs.

Overview
The Model 3004-MTE Series are self-powered tail circuit buffers, which enable the connection of two DCEs in a tail circuit configuration. A tail circuit adapter is required to couple two DCE devices whose clocks are of the same frequency but are not in phase. The Model 3004-MTE utilizes a single auto-centering buffer to prevent data errors caused by clock jitter and clock phase differences. All 3004-MTE models perform the necessary cross over wiring connections between the two DCEs. Model 3004-MTE installation is easy and straightforward.

The Model 3004-ECB Series are self-powered elastic buffers, which enable the connection of two independently clocked DCEs. When two internally clocked devices exchange data and cannot be clocked externally, the 3004-ECB is used as an interface between them.

The Model 3004-ECB Series utilize two buffers to reduce errors caused by clock drift between two DCEs. All 3004-ECB models employ adaptive buffer control. Internal buffers will automatically adjust to almost full in the case of underflow or to almost empty in case of overflow. All 3004-ECB models perform the necessary cross over wiring connections between the two DCEs. Model 3004-ECB installation is easy and straightforward.
