Artel SMART openGear ST2110 - ST2110 <-> SDI, Media over IP Delivery Platform (Encoder & Decoder)


The SMART openGear ST2110 is an SDI to ST2110-22 Media Gateway providing two (2) channel 12G/6G/3G/HD SDI Encoding & Decoding supporting JPEG-XS compression using TR-08 over 10GE trunk ports with ST2022-7 for hitless redundancy.


Overview

The Artel SMART openGear ST2110 <-> SDI, Media over IP Delivery Platform is a two channel 12G/6G/3G/HD-SDI over IP transport gateway employing JPEG-XS (TR-08) compression.  JPEG-XS compression achieves 20x bandwidth efficiency over IP without introducing any noticeable loss of quality.  The low latency and optimized bandwidth utilization makes 4K and HD video transmission more efficient which means lower costs for broadcasters.

 

This openGear card offers bi-directional and multi-channel SDI to ST2110-22 Encoding and ST2110-22 to SDI Decoding without any additional licensing requirements. Both encode and decode licenses are included.

 

When configured as an encoder the card provides two ST2110-22 IP outputs or when configured as a decoder the card provides two 12G-SDI outputs using dual 10GE SFPs.  ST-2022-7 Hitless Redundancy delivers packet duplication and redundant streams using different physical routes for seamless protection switching.

 

Each SDI port receives (1) video, sixteen (16) audio and one (1) data channel and the unit processes it into ST-2110 essences and vice versa.  SDI inputs are frame-synced prior to encapsulation, ensuring seamless integration into IP workflows. 

The unit comes as and a standard OpenGear card and uses NMOS for in-band control and configuration which can be utilized alongside the openGear DashBoard™ for remote monitoring and configuration.

 

The Artel FiberLink, DigiLink and SMART products are designed to enable Broadcasters to move from SDI to IP infrastructure over time and at pace, while future-proofing IP adoptions with 12G and 4K/8K video today with software upgradability in the future.

The SMART openGear ST2110 provides 12G/6G/3G/HD-SDI to ST2110 Encapsulation and De-Encapsulation with TR-08 JPEG-XS encoding and decoding.  This is the perfect solution for delivering enhanced functionality to address bandwidth efficiency and high-quality video, low latency, compression requirements using two 10GE trunks for seamless protection switching.
