Patton Debuts Industry's First 10Base-FL Ethernet Print Server

The Model 2127 is compatible with Ethernet II, 802.2, 802.3 and SNAP frames. When functioning as a Novell print server, the Model 2127 is able torecognize up to 250 file servers and logon to 10 simultaneously. Configuration of the Model 2127 in Novell environments is accomplished usingPCONSOLE or Patton's own menu-driven UCONNECT utility. When functioning as a TCP/IP print server, the Model 2127 is configured using Telnet.The Model 2127 can use either LPR or FTP to print in a Unix environment. Software upgrades may be performed in either Novell or TCP/IP networks using Flash EPROM.

The Model 2127 plugs directly into the Centronics\ae port of a parallel printer, and provides dual ST connectors for attachment to a 10BaseFL network.Power is normally supplied to the Model 2127 by an external AC wall mount transformer. However, the Model 2127 is also able to source +5VDC frompin 18 of the Centronics interface (if available), thus allowing self-powered operation.
