SmartNode™ VoIP... More Than Just Talk
GAITHERSBURG, MD : Patton Electronics (www.patton.com)
will showcase two revenue-enabling technologies for wireless carrier-providers at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona during 25-28 February, the company announced today.
At this year's global event for wireless carriers and MVNOs, Patton executives and product managers will present two new product lines that enable fixed-mobile convergence and cloud-based value-added services for business, institutions, transportation, and M2M applications.
- BODi rS™ Bandwidth-on-Demand Internet Routers offer fast internet connectivity over bonded multi-link 3G, 4G, and VSAT.
BODi combines WAN load balancing with VPN bonding
to deliver MPLS-like speed and reliability. Supporting up to seven 3G/4G/LTE, WiFi/WiMAX or VSAT uplinks, the BODi product line offers cost-effective, on-demand bandwidth aggregation for fixed and mobile enterprises of all sizes.
- SmartNode™ 10K TDM + VoIP Media Gateways facilitate carrier-paced transition to new-generation
converged-IP architecture. Operating legacy TDM POTS/ISDN and
advanced NGN VoIP protocols concurrently, Patton’s commercial-grade SN10K gateways connect
traditional SS7 edge, core and peer zones with expanding MEGACO and SIP networks.
"With BODi, Patton brings a unique mobile broadband experience to market," said Brian Lawlor, product manager. "These powerful fixed-mobile routers combine
up to seven wired and wireless broadband modems--plus a WiFi hotspot and WiFi WAN—all in a single unit."
“Transitioning to converged IP is no sprint,” said Joshua Puckett, SmartNode Product Manager. “It’s a long run.
By supporting TDM, IP, and hybrid architectures simultaneously, SmartNode 10K
gateways facilitate any long-term migration plan. The integrated SS7 stack ensures interoperability with global carrier
networks. But its lynchpin is redundancy. N+1 and 1+1 options enable true ‘five-nines’ reliability.”
By supporting such mobile and IP vocoders as AMR, AMR-WB (G.722.2), GSM-FR/GSM-EFR, EVRC/QCELP, G.728, G.729eg, and iLBC, with independent dynamic codec selection
per channel, the SN10K enables fixed-mobile convergence (FMC).
Scaling from four T1/E1 trunks up to a full STM-1, SN10K solutions enable customized ringback, background audio, number spoofing, ads-for-minutes, and
other value-added services (VAS).
