Patton Engages Peter Burkhalter to Lead Business Development In Expanding European Technology Market
Amid forecasted growth in Europe’s technology market, Patton commissions former Nortel and IBM executive to address IP-technology needs of carriers and large enterprises.
Burkhalter’s appointment comes amid forecasted growth in the global session border controller market—Patton’s core business—at a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 13.6% from 2012 through 2016.
Meanwhile, optimistic expectations for growth in the region’s overall economy were recently nourished by news of the greatest weekly advance since 2011 in the European stock market.
“European carriers and enterprises are facing a connectivity gap,” Burkhalter observes, “stemming from the ongoing transformation to all-IP networks. Patton is well-positioned to support the growing IP-technology market with a new generation of products that address those companies’ true needs.”
In his role as Vice President of Business Development for Western Europe, Patton has commissioned Mr. Burkhalter to address key accounts with a specific focus on incumbent carriers and large enterprises.
“We are very pleased to welcome Peter to Patton’s leadership team,” said Ramon Felder, President and CEO of Patton-Inalp. “He brings a proven track record of success with other world leaders in the communications-technology space.”
Spanning 25 years of experience in information-technology and telecommunications markets, Mr. Burkhalter’s resume includes product development, marketing management, and business-unit leadership with such organizations as Siemens, Ascom, Nortel and IBM.
Mr. Burkhalter holds bachelor’s degrees in electrical engineering and software engineering, as well as an Executive Masters of Business Administration (EMBA).
Conducting business operations from Patton-Inalp headquarters in Bern, Switzerland, Mr. Burkhalter can be reached at email@example.com and +41 31 985 25 21 and on LinkedIn.
