Patton Partners with Target, Migrates US Carriers to IP5.12.2015 By providing SmartNode VoIP gateways and E-SBCs, Target makes it easy for US telecom operators to transition to all-IP telephony.
The new partnership will make it easy for telecom operators in the United States to transition to all-IP telephony services by providing Patton’s SmartNode VoIP gateways and enterprise session border controllers (E-SBCs) to US carriers and service providers. “We are proud to represent Patton in the US telecom marketplace,” said Tim Rogers, Datacom Division Manager at Target. “SmartNode VoIP equipment is the ideal customer premise solution for carriers that want to ease their business customers into SIP trunking and IP communications. Patton gateways interoperate seamlessly with every telephony manufacturer in the business. The stability of SmartNode is world-renowned.” Patton’s VoIP devices are designed to IP-enable legacy phone equipment so phone companies can update and consolidate their networks while delivering SIP-based services to business customers who want to keep their existing phone systems. “Patton is pleased to join forces with a distributor that has developed such strong business relationships in the Telecom industry,” said Sean Gerrity, US Sales Director at Patton. “Target has a time-tested reputation among US carriers and service providers. Their network of reseller and installer partners is trusted and well-known.” Patton’s US-manufactured SmartNode VoIP devices are widely deployed throughout Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, where they are highly-reputed for quality and reliability. Yet, ironically, as a mid-sized American company, Patton has sometimes been overlooked by large US phone companies, which favor well-known, trusted distributors… like Target. Later this month at IdeaCom—the members-only conference for the telecom value-added reseller community—Target and Patton will showcase several key SmartNode solutions that IP-enable legacy voice systems for SIP trunks. The two companies will be located in booth 33. South-Carolina-based service provider, Intermedia, which recently certified SmartNode VoIP gateways for interoperability with its “Office in the Cloud” SIP trunking service, will be a featured exhibitor at IdeaCom. Last month Patton announced the Polish carrier and datacenter operator ATM has deployed SmartNode SS7 gateways to deliver new carrier-class business voice services.
