Patton names Managing Director and Director of Technology for China Operations

GAITHERSBURG, Maryland - Patton Electronics Company announces that Weizhi (Wilson) Zhang has been appointed Managing Director of China Operations and Xiaomin (Simon) Chen has been named Director of Technology, also for China operations.

Zhang was formerly a Regional Sales Manager for Cisco China and a Deputy General Manager for Cycle Time Technology Development Ltd., a Chinese telecommunications integrator. In his new role, Wilson Zhang will manage the new Patton facilities in Beijing and Shanghai that will be opened in December of 2001. Wilson will report to Wayne Shore--Director of Asia/Pacific operations--and assist in the day to day business operations and staffing. Wilson will also be our chief businessdevelopment manager, working closely with U.S. based personnel to find,cultivate, and manage the local distribution relationships.

Simon Chen previously worked as an independent consultant to Beijing Technology Company, assisting them in the deployment oftelecommunications solutions for a major oil company in China. AsDirector of Technology, Simon will fill the dual roles of ProductManager and Chief Technology Officer for China. He will be responsiblefor local technical sales and marketing activities. Simon will provideproduct, technical and marketing support to local partners andend-customers, presenting and propagating in-depth technology solutions and associated business cases and deployment strategies for Patton's existing and next-generation products.
