1995 The Year in Review 1.5.1996
Here in the US, 1995 was the year of O.J. and Cal Ripkin and the Beatles(again) and Newt vs. Bill. It was also a year of milestones forPatton Electronics Company. Join us as we recap the high points of our year. The Information Superhighway Patton Electronics merged onto that "electronic autobahn" of cyberspace know as the Internet in 1995. We set up our own site on the World Wide Web,including the Patton Home Page and Online Catalog. We received our first sales order directly through the Internet -- untouched by human hands. And wefound out that E-mail could help us communicate better internally as a company, as well as communicating more efficiently with the outside world. Company Growth We experienced a couple of very significant company growth milestones in 1995. Our Sales Department broke into jubilant shouts in November when Patton's first $1 million sales month was recorded (Burt Patton, V.P. of Marketing, was seen hugging employees at random). 1995 was also the year when Patton's personnel ranks topped 100 (making the New Year's pot-luck an extraordinary event). And not incidentally, overall revenue grew by a respectable 25% over 1994! Environmental Products Group 1995 saw the unveiling of a new sales and marketing entity at Patton. The Environmental Products Group was established to promote and sellPatton's fast-growing line of surge protection products. "Patton EPG", as the newgroup was named, is headed by V.P. Peter Norman, and will have itsown distinctive set of marketing tools. Official Certification Enormous amounts of effort were rewarded in 1995 with the recommendation that Patton Electronics be ISO-9001 certified. We also obtainednecessary compliance data and entered into a contract with a European Competent Body to enable the CE marking of our products. Both of these milestones are extremely good news for our Patton Distributors, because they enhance the competitive advantage of Patton products. New Products Speaking of products, in 1995 we introduced our first 2 Mbps G.703 products (Models 2703 and 460), the market's first fiber optic print server(Model2127), and the first short range modem geared specifically for internet access (Model 1018). So there you have it: a few of the mountain tops from Patton's trek through 1995. We hope your 1995 had at least as many high points, and that 1996 willbe a year of ascents for you!
