GAITHERSBURG, MD and MUNICH: Patton—manufacturer of SmartNode VoIP CPE solutions—has been chosen to supply session border controllers, VoIP media gateways and VoIP routers for Deutsche Telekom’s new DeutschlandLAN Hosted Lync and Enriched Business Communication (EBC) service offerings. Beginning June 2014, Deutsche Telekom will expand its services for traditional business telephony customers by offering the "DeutschlandLAN” phone system network based on Microsoft Lync. Delivered in the Deutsche Telekom public cloud, the new Unified Communications and Collaboration (UCC) solution offers business telephony customers such new functionalities as HD audio and video conferencing, integrated presence status, instant messaging, desktop sharing, and collaboration with other users, as well as seamless integration with Microsoft Outlook. The DeutschlandLAN telephone system also interoperates seamlessly with such applications as Office 365, and Exchange Online as well as SharePoint Online. During the same time frame, Deutsche Telekom is rolling out a white-label solution for resellers: the Enriched Business Communication (EBC) provides all the communication and collaboration features of Microsoft Lync Enterprise, including all voice functions. As a Microsoft strategic partner, Deutsche Telekom’s experience with hosting Microsoft's UCC products goes long and deep. Now, EBC provides a reliable and scalable service, operated in Deutsche Telekom’s secure data centers. In contrast to other UC solutions, EBC offers the complete, future-proof functionality of MS Lync Enterprise, including all voice features. To supply the required Lync-certified VoIP customer-premise equipment—including SIP Session Border Routers, BRI So VoIP Media Gateways and VoIP Routers—Deutsche Telekom chose Patton. Having claimed numerous awards for reliability, interoperability, and functionality, Patton’s SmartNode family of VoIP Products provide reliable, seamless interconnections for traditional ISDN (PRI and BRI) and analog telephony systems with IP-based communication networks.
