What is MFC-R2? | |||
Article Id #: 64 | |||
Multifrequency Compelled (MFC) Signaling was originally introduced by the European Telecommunication Standards Institute (ETSI). Later, it has been defined by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) as Signaling System R2 in the standards Q.400 - Q.490. It is commonly referred to as R2 due to the historical background as MFC-R2. R2 belongs to the group of Channel Associated Signaling (CAS) protocols and consists of two groups of interexchange signals, Line-Signals and Register-Signals. For information on how to configure R2 on SmartNode products refer to page 463 of the SmartWare Configuration Guide (http://patton.com/manuals/SCG_r58.pdf). |
