Patton is seeking a strategic and driven Business Development Manager to lead our growth in the U.S. Federal Government sector. This role focuses on expanding our footprint across Defense, Intelligence, and Civilian Government agencies by delivering secure, reliable, and innovative communications solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Federal Sales Strategy

  • Drive business development and revenue growth in the Federal Government vertical.
  • Sell Patton products and services directly and through channel partners to senior agency leaders (Director, Chief, PEO level).
  • Deliver tailored value propositions addressing physical security, communications infrastructure, and telephony edge solutions.

• Customer Engagement & Relationship Building

  • Build long-term partnerships with key decision-makers in Defense and Civilian agencies.
  • Understand customer missions and speak their language to position Patton as a trusted partner.
  • Actively listen, probe, and identify customer needs to recommend optimal solutions.

• Sales Execution

  • Cultivate, qualify, and close new opportunities using strategic account management practices.
  • Prepare and present high-quality proposals, cost-benefit analyses, and pricing estimates.
  • Navigate Federal acquisition processes and funding mechanisms (e.g., IDIQs, agency-specific programs).

• Internal Collaboration

  • Work cross-functionally with Patton’s technical and operations teams to deliver customer value.
  • Leverage internal experts to differentiate Patton’s offerings and support customer education.

• Market Intelligence & Reporting

  • Maintain CRM records with accurate pipeline activity, sales phases, and close probabilities.
  • Provide regular updates to management on account status, market changes, and sales progress.
  • Participate in industry organizations (e.g., AFCEA, NDIA) to stay informed and connected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (MBA preferred).
• U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain DoD Security Clearance.
• 5+ years of progressive field sales experience; 3+ years in connectivity/communications preferred.
• Proven success selling technology solutions to Federal Government agencies.
• Strong understanding of Federal budgeting and acquisition processes.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and strategic planning skills.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
• Ability to travel up to 50% (primarily local/regional).
