Patton Ships World’s Smallest VoIP ATA
Ultra-miniature VoIP adapter cuts the cost of voice communications for carriers and customers.
SmartNode™ & SmartLink™ VoIP...more than just talk.
GAITHERSBURG, MD: Patton Electronics — the leader in network-access, connectivity, and VoIP solutions — announced today their SmartLink™ Micro Analog Telephone Adapter (M-ATA™) is now shipping.
The SmartLink™ M-ATA™ is Patton’s latest customer-premise-equipment (CPE) innovation for Voice-over-IP (VoIP) networking. It also happens to be the smallest analog telephone adapter (ATA) on the market. Building on a track record of large-scale deployments featuring Patton’s VoIP equipment in carrier and service-provider networks, today’s announcement further establishes Patton as a technology innovator and VoIP-industry leader.
The device’s tiny size and light weight are designed to minimize shipping costs. Built-in remote-management features with Patton’s free support services further reduce VoIP operating expenses, leading to higher profits for carriers and lower costs for subscribers.
“Total-cost-of-ownership is the key term here,” said Burton A. Patton, Executive Vice President. “Low price is just the beginning. With no-touch provisioning, remote configuration, web management, free lifetime software upgrades… plus our free, world-class tech support …Patton’s M-ATA™ pushes way down on operating costs. Our featherweight form factor also means lower freight charges. That's a big deal for VoIP service providers. When you’re sending VoIP CPEs to a hundred-thousand customers, saving a buck or two on each box really adds up.”
Patton’s pocket-size M-ATA™ connects any standard analog phone or fax machine to an enterprise or service-provider VoIP network. The tiny-yet-powerful device makes state-of-the-art VoIP available to any home, home office or small office with broadband Internet access.
“There’s nobody out there with a smaller VoIP adapter,” said Marco Liechti, Product Manager for Patton’s SmartNode™ and SmartLink™ VoIP solutions. “But don’t let this little guy fool you! Our micro-adapter is packed with powerful calling features — caller-ID, call-waiting, call-forwarding, conferencing, and on and on… It’s also remotely configurable and software upgradeable so providers can provision, monitor and configure their VoIP service without ever leaving their office. That saves everyone — providers and customers — the expense and hassle of service calls.”
Businesses and non-profits can use the SmartLink™ M-ATA to reduce or eliminate teleworkers’ phone charges by connecting remote offices through the Internet to a corporate VoIP network. The device’s ultra-miniature dimensions also add a convenience factor. Employees can easily slip the M-ATA™ into a pocket or briefcase to carry home, where the tiny footprint takes up a negligible amount of desk space.
