Massive VoIP Rollout Features Patton Equipment
Deployment is well underway for Avantel’s 20,000-subscriber VoIP-service featuring SmartLink™ VoIP SoHo Routers.
SmartNode™ & SmartLink™ VoIP... more than just talk
GAITHERSBURG—Patton, the leader in network-access, connectivity, and VoIP solutions—announces today that Avantel Mexico is rapidly rolling out their NetVoice™ VoIP converged-service offering featuring Patton VoIP gear.
“The demand for VoIP Services is strong all over the world,” said Burton A. Patton, Patton’s Executive Vice President. “Avantel is leading the race with nearly 50,000 Patton VoIP ports deployed in consumer and business-class VoIP services. Other carriers have selected over-priced or under-performing VoIP gear, and suffered false-starts or failed business models as a result. By choosing Patton, Avantel has avoided those critical mistakes.”
In fact, according to Mundo Contact Magazine, as of August 2005 Avantel was already delivering the rapidly-growing NetVoice™ VoIP service to 6,000 subscribers. The converged voice/data/Internet service for residential and SoHo subscribers is based on Patton's consumer-class SmartLink™ Model 4020 Series VoIP SoHo Router. SmartLink™ VoIP technology enables Avantel to deliver affordable, high-quality converged voice-and-data service—bundled with robust broadband-Internet access—to the customer's home.
“Avantel’s customers love the low price and advanced calling features of NetVoice,” said Armando Morillo, Patton’s Sales Director for Latin America. “The remarkably high voice quality also plays a big role in ensuring a good user experience.”
The SmartLink™ SoHo router offers such advanced calling features as conditional-call-forwarding, 3-way-calling, call-blocking, call-waiting and speed-dialing. Combining touchless, automatic provisioning and configuration over a provider network, SmartLink™ routers enable Avantel to reduce operating costs while increasing VoIP subscriptions at the same time.
"Patton plays well with others," said Oscar Lara, Director of NetVoice for Avantel. "Avantel was looking for a reliable and responsive VoIP vendor, and that’s what we got. Patton's SmartLink is flexible and reasonably priced, connecting seamlessly with Avantel's network platforms and protocols. Plus, Patton’s support team is one of the best in the market—before, during and after the sale. Patton has proven to be a true business partner able to adapt, quick to customize... They always make sure their solutions work well in our network and for our customers."
Avantel's expansion into converged services for the residential market builds on the successful rollout of their PYME Plus business-class service—which featured Patton’s SmartNode™ Model 2300 VoIP Gateway Routers as consumer-premise equipment.
