VoIP Gateways were chosen over PRI cards because, unlike PRI (Primary Rate Interface) cards media gateways do not consume 12-15% of server load affecting server capacity, and does not damage the server during voltage fluctuations or other technical issues.

Patton VoIP Gateways function as standalone devices which are connected to the server through SIP trunks converting TDM (Time Division Multiplexing) signals to SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) which is read by the Ameyo system. This significantly reduces operating costs by connecting a legacy business phone system with dynamic SIP trunking services. With VoIP Gateways, customers can have multiple PRI providers by configuring clock synchronization for each port.

Ameyo Distributed architecture is proposed wherein APP/DB server shall be placed at centralized location and separate call server shall be there at each location. Ameyo receives SIP via Patton Gateway. All locations shall be connected with each other via MPLS connection.
