Patton announces SmartNode™ session border controller series is certified for Microsoft Teams Direct Routing
Certified for interop with Teams and its Direct Routing feature, Patton’s SBC solutions support interconnection with any SIP or PSTN service for external voice calling
SmartNode™ VoIP... More than Just Talk!
GAITHERSBURG, MARYLAND: Patton—US manufacturer of enabling solutions for Unified Communications (UC), ALL-IP, and cloud communications—announces the SmartNode series of enterprise session border controllers (SBCs) has now entered the elite class of Microsoft Teams certified devices that support Direct Routing.
Certified for interoperability with Microsoft Teams, the Patton SBC series supports Direct Routing, a Teams feature that enables interconnection between the UC software and any SIP or PSTN services a company wishes to use.
In addition to PSTN trunks, SIP trunks, and cloud-resident or on-premise PBXs, SBC-enabled system integrations with Teams may incorporate legacy such endpoints as Key Systems, pro-audio voice and video systems, analog intercoms, and traditional annunciator-and-notification systems.
“With a Patton session border controller Teams solution, organizations that use Microsoft Teams can choose with confidence any business-class telephony calling service they prefer,” said Buddy Oliver, Vice President of Product Management at Patton, “with no worries about interoperability delays during implementation or troubleshooting headaches during operation.”
Fully interoperable with Teams and the Direct Routing feature, Patton’s Microsoft Teams session border controller and Microsoft Teams gateway enable Teams users to employ an external SIP or PSTN communications service provider for external phone calls while realizing the benefits of the unified communications platform.
Proven Success in the Real World
In a proven real-world success story, Patton recently completed a project for STARFACE PBX customers that use SmartNode SBCs to integrate Microsoft Teams with SIP trunk services for Microsoft Teams VoIP calls.
