Patton’s New BRI PSTN Gateway Resets Price-Performance Benchmark for VoIP CPE
The 2-BRI SmartNode™ 4554 reliably connects any IP-PBX to the ISDN PSTN, offering small businesses a high-quality user experience at unprecedented low cost.
SmartNode™ VoIP... more than just talk
BERN, SWITZERLAND: Patton-Inalp Networks—creator of the SmartNode™ brand of industry-leading VoIP technology solutions— has expanded their VoIP CPE product line with a rich-featured, very-low-cost 2-BRI PSTN VoIP Gateway.
Certified for interoperability with a long list of major IP-PBX vendors that includes 3CX, Asterisk, PingTel, and others, the 4-call SmartNode™ 4554 BRI PSTN Gateway connects any IP-PBX system to the ISDN PSTN via two BRIs. The SN4554 enhances the small-office user experience with such transparent ISDN features as Explicit Call Transfer (ECT), Advice of Charge (AOC), Calling Line Identification Presentation (CLIP) and Calling Line Identification Restriction (CLIR).
“Along with reliability, interoperability is critical,” said Ramon Felder, President. “But it’s more than economics. Who wants the headache of fighting with an overpriced router, staying up half the night, forcing it work with a standard IP-PBX? That’s why all the big integrators—like IBM—love us. SmartNode™ is the industry’s most interoperable VoIP gateway.” Smiling, Mr. Felder adds, “A record-breaking price doesn’t hurt either.”
Listing at $489, the Model SN4554 Gateway resets the low-cost benchmark on VoIP CPE for small-business telephony systems. Compare a 4-call gateway from AudioCodes, the model MP404, at $853 MSRP.
Major enterprise deployments for SmartNode™ include a VoIP-over-VPN Network with Secure, Encrypted Voice for a 1200-Site Retail Chain.
“It’s another grand-slam,” said Marco Liechti, product manager. “The SmartNode™ 4554 covers all the bases… industry-leading voice quality, rich ISDN features, proven reliability, certified interoperability... plus extremely competitive pricing. That’s why 3CX is bundling their solution with ours. And our batting average keeps rising. That’s why vendors like Amris-IP, SipFoundry, Communigate... they’re all lining up to join our team.”
It’s not the first time Patton-Inalp has knocked it out of the park. SmartNode™ credentials include INTERNET TELEPHONY® magazine’s product-of-the-year award in 2005 (SN4960 PRI Gateway) and 2006 (SN4630 BRI Gateway), and the recent 2007 Excellence Award (SN4560 Voice-over-VPN Router).
Business-class VoIP systems require such SmartNode features as flexible call-routing, secure Voice-over-VPN with IPsec-encrypted voice and data, Patton’s exclusive DownStreamQoS™ for uninterrupted toll-quality voice, and support for all the industry-standard CODECs. Patton’s program of free software upgrades offers long-term assurance against obsolescence.
The Triple Play Alliance (Dormach, Germany) showcases Patton-Inalp’s VoIP CPE interoperating with solutions from 15 other hardware and software vendors and service providers. During 23-25 October, the Triple Play Lab will host the 2007 EMEA Channel Summit for Patton-Inalp’s distributor and reseller partners.
