GAITHERSBURG, MARYLAND: Patton—creator
of the world’s first Ethernet extender—announces the new ruggedized CopperLink
CL2380R long-range copper and fiber network extender is now available for
pre-order.
Advanced. Patton's Industrial Network Extender represents a significant
advancement in the field of industrial communication solutions. By integrating
fiber backbones with long-range copper rings, Patton’s latest innovation in
network technology offers unparalleled reliability and future-proof operation
for industrial Ethernet applications.
Market. Patton’s announcement comes amidst projections that today’s
global $10.2 billion industrial
Ethernet market will reach $22.6 Billion by 2032. The automotive and
transportation segment accounts for the largest share of the market in 2022
generating $8.9 billion revenue. North America is reportedly the largest
industrial Ethernet market globally in 2022, boasting a 43% revenue share.
Ideal for intelligent transportation networks, including roadways,
railways, bridges, tunnels, and such, Patton’s CL2380R offers significant cost
reductions by integrating existing copper infrastructure with fiber rings and
backbones.
Seamless. Patton’s new network extender seamlessly switches between
copper and fiber rings, preserving network connectivity for such critical
operations as security & surveillance, remote control, metering, sensor
connectivity, traffic controls (lights, gates, etc.), and IP cameras on
roadsides and intersections.
Engineered for ease of use, security, and durability, the ruggedized
CL2380R is perfectly suited for use in aerospace, defense, robotics, oil and
gas, alternative energy, water, wastewater, marine, and rail industries.
Future-proof. Patton’s new industrial network extender helps network
designers create future-proof systems that remain at the forefront of
technological innovation with maximized performance and uptime in harsh
industrial applications.
“We’ve married a long-range multi-drop copper Ethernet extender with
a managed 8-port industrial Ethernet switch,” said Burton A. Patton, EVP at
Patton, LLC. “Our game-changing solution includes 6 LAN and 2 gigabit SFP WAN
ports. This revolutionary product offers remarkable utility for industrial
Ethernet applications.”
Interfaces. The CL2380R network extender from Patton provides 2 fiber
connections combined with six local 10/100 and two long-range copper Ethernet
interfaces all in one device.
Initial shipments of the CL2380R are expected to begin in October.
Coming soon. In the near future, Patton plans to release the world’s smallest
VoIP gateway—delivered as a small form-factor pluggable (SFP) unit. Wait for
it. . .
