GAITHERSBURG, MARYLAND: Patton Electronics—US-manufacturer of award-winning SmartNode™ VoIP solutions, CopperLink™ Ethernet Extenders, and BODI rS™ High Availability Fixed & Mobile Routers—announces certified interoperability for its SmartNode VoIP customer-premise equipment (CPE) with the Time Warner Cable (TWC) business-class SIP trunk service.

Patton’s forte is enabling businesses of all sizes to connect the communications systems they already have with the service provider of their choice.

The certification represents a three-way win that benefits 1) business subscribers, 2) managed service organizations (MSOs) that sell, implement and support TWC’s service, and of course 3) the service provider itself.
  • Business subscribers - can preserve capital investment while reducing monthly phone expenses—and improving worker productivity with enhanced IP-based features. The certified interoperability offers business leaders peace-of-mind with the assurance their tech teams can easily implement and support the service.

  • MSOs and resellers - can expand their customer base because SmartNode CPE enable them to say “yes” to more of their prospective customers more often.

  • Time Warner Cable - While smaller companies are often reluctant to migrate to SIP-trunks and IP-based voice communications, Patton offers a solution that helps service providers reach more businesses with such services.

“We’re making life a little easier for businesses,” said Sean Gerrity, Patton’s US Sales Director. “Patton and Time-Warner already made sure the solution works. That means IT people will have fewer headaches and managers will have fewer worries.”

SmartNode VoIP gateway-routers and enterprise session border controllers (E-SBCs) offer built-in traditional telephony interfaces (PRI, BRI, FXS, and FXO)—as well as up to three Ethernet ports--that can seamlessly connect existing legacy or all-IP telephony systems to Time Warner’s SIP trunk service while supporting TDM survivability.

Today’s announcement is only the most recent episode in Patton’s interoperability story. Persistently developed over more than a decade, Patton’s extensive technology partner program includes just about every major vendor in the telecom industry today.

In related news, Patton recently announced certified interoperability for SmartNode with MetaSphere IP-telephony software as a new member of the Metaswitch Mosaic technology partner program.
